The UniWiND Coordination Office for Advanced Graduate Information (UniKoN) aims to improve the availability of data about advanced graduates at German universities and research societies. UniKoN supports these research institutions in their efforts to provide data on young researchers and their research development in a common standard.
Comprehensive data on young academics are essential, especially when it comes to monitoring the quality of doctorates and career paths at universities and research institutions. Additionally, a solid data basis provides support and promotion to in-depth socio-scientific studies.
UniKoN provides news and information about collecting and managing data from advanced graduates on its website. Furthermore, we offer consultation on your topics via phone, email, and face-to-face in our office.
UniKoN regularly organises regional workshops where we focus on selected topics of interest concerning data acquisition and related challenges. These workshops also provide helpful opportunities for cross-university exchange. UniKoN further helps to establish peer-to-peer communication between universities in order to facilitate the implementation of specific software systems for data acquisition, or the adaptation of existing systems to new parameters.
UniKoN is a collaborative research project between the German University Association of Advanced Graduate Training (UniWiND/GUAT) and Friedrich Schiller University Jena. The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
