Comprehensive data on young academics are essential, especially when it comes to monitoring the quality of doctorates at a university. Additionally, a solid data basis provides support and promotion to in-depth socio scientific studies.
The UniWiND Coordination Office for Advanced Graduate Information (UniKoN) aims to improve the disposability of data about advanced graduates at German Universities. UniKoN supports these research institutions in their efforts to collect data about young researchers and their research development in a common nationwide standard.
UniKoN provides news and information about collecting and managing data from advanced graduates on its website. Furthermore, we offer consultation on your topics via phone, email, and face-to-face in our office.
UniKoN regularly organises regional workshops where we focus on participant-defined topics concerning data collection and its challenges. These workshops also provide a helpful opportunity for cross-university exchange. UniKoN further helps to establish peer-to-peer communication between German universities in order to facilitate the implementation of specific software systems for data acquisition, or the adaptation of the current system to new parameters.
The UniWiND Coordination Office for Advanced Graduate Information is a joint research project of the German University Association of Advanced Graduate Training (UniWiND/GUAT) and the Friedrich Schiller University Jena. The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
